Summer Course enrolment is just a few weeks away. Once your child has a confirmed place, the practical question comes next: what do we actually need to pack? This guide breaks it down by category so that the first day feels straightforward for every family.
Clothing and Footwear
Comfortable, light clothing is best. Cotton fabrics keep children cool during the summer heat. Each day, send one spare set of clothes inside the bag — sessions can include art, games, and outdoor time, so spills happen. Closed-toe shoes are required at all times for safety. Sandals and open shoes are not suitable for course activities.
- Two sets of clothes (one worn, one spare in the bag)
- Closed-toe shoes with socks
- A light cardigan or jacket for air-conditioned rooms
Stationery
All workbooks and printed learning materials are provided by the school as part of the course fee. Students still need their own basic stationery each day.
- Two pencils and a sharpener
- A blue or black pen (for students aged 8 and above)
- A 30 cm ruler
- An eraser
- A pencil case
- A bag large enough to hold A4-size papers
Coloured pencils are welcome if your child enjoys using them, but are not required.
Personal Care and Health
Apply sunscreen at home before the school day begins. The course includes outdoor time, and it is not always possible to reapply during scheduled activities.
- A refillable water bottle, clearly labelled with your child's name
- A sealed snack for the mid-morning break — please avoid nuts
- A small personal hand towel
- Any prescription medication in its original packaging, accompanied by a completed medical consent form given to the teacher on day one
What the School Provides
These items are included in the course fee and do not need to come from home.
- All course workbooks and printed materials
- Art and craft supplies for project sessions
- Drinking water stations inside the building
- A printed weekly schedule sent home each Friday
Label Everything
Lost property accumulates quickly when many children are in the same building. Write your child's name on every item they bring: bag, water bottle, shoes, pencil case, and jacket. A strip of masking tape with a permanent marker is all you need. Items with no name are very difficult to return to the right family.
A Quick Check Before Day One
Pack the bag the evening before so the morning is calm. Run through these five points before leaving home.
- Bag packed and checked
- Water bottle filled and labelled
- Sunscreen applied at home
- Medical form submitted to the teacher if needed
- Emergency contact number shared with the class teacher
If you have questions this guide does not cover, the school office is open and happy to help before the course starts.
